Submissions

I am not a fan of horror, vampires and zombies, YA dystopia, or erotica. My preferred genres are mystery, suspense, thrillers, romance drama and suspense ala Nora Roberts, and straight science fiction (not fantasy or mythical magic). Having said that, I’m all about the writing and storytelling, and I can be tempted to abandon my comfort zone and dive into a non-preferred genre given a well written, well crafted story, with compellingly developed characters and themes. I will provide only honest reviews, though bear in mind any review is subjective and should not deter you from continuing to learn, develop, and practice the craft. I will not post a negative review of a poorly written work. My aim is to assist fellow indie authors. If I am unable to get past the first pages or first chapter, I will forward my critique to you privately rather than posting it publicly.

To submit for review send me an email at michaelsmart@bequiamysteries.com with the first chapter of the published version (no unedited drafts) copied into the body of the email. I will not open attachments. If I agree to review your work I will notify you by email and provide instructions for sending the entire manuscript. I accept epub and pdf formats. Not all requests for a review will be accepted, but I will respond to your email.
